Hi! My name is Riley Wertzberger. I am 6'-0" and I play varsity volleyball for Richardson High School in Richardson, TX and I will graduate in 2017. I am currently in my junior year and finished my school season with a 6A All District Honorable Mention and All District Academic award.
I am so excited to be a part of the Georgetown University 2017 recruiting class!
In 4th grade I began my volleyball training and have continued through recreation leagues, school teams, performance leagues and club for the last two years. Last year I played for Dallas Premier Mizuno on their under 16 Black (top tier) team.
As a participant in the AVCA Talent Showcase I learned a lot about the expectations of playing volleyball in college and have my VPI score posted on their website.
Mentoring is an important part of my high school volleyball experience and I have been teaching young girls in the BYOP® program volleyball skills and teamwork.
I love volleyball because it is fun to play and I love competing on the court. My favorite skill is an explosive hit from anywhere on the court. My goal is to be a 6 rotation player and I'm working hard training every week on hitting, passing and defense.
